Description<\/strong>:<\/strong> One of the largest residential developments in Paris, designed in 1964. It consists of 16 distinctive residential towers and lower accompanying buildings of varying character \u2013 a total of 1,791 residential units. <\/p> \n \n

Process:<\/strong> <\/strong>The investment was carried out as part of the process of revitalising the area’s blocks of flats \u2013 around the year 2000, the area had major social problems, caused by the high concentration of residents in a relatively small area \u2013 which contributed to the formation of gangs here and the emergence of drug dealers. The value of the repair investment is \u2013 142 million euros, and the space of the entire settlement was divided into smaller units. The common spaces are only for pedestrians and throughout the apartment complex there are several internal gardens. <\/p> \n \n

Community<\/strong>:<\/strong> An ethnically, culturally, socially diverse neighborhood \u2013 originally inhabited by the middle class.<\/p> \n \n

NBS tools used:<\/strong> The community garden covers an area of 2 hectares and is managed by Paris Habitat organizations. No chemicals are used, biodiversity is respected, and the grass is cut according to seasonal cycles. Balanced irrigation is applied to plants, taking into account their individual needs and the rate at which they evaporate water (Differentiated Management Standard). Watering is done in the morning, depending on the weather conditions. The community garden is used to grow vegetables, herbs and ornamental flowers. There is also a small area of lawn for passive recreation. In this area there are also large trees, but fruit trees are also being planted. All plants come from the Poulain nursery located in Paris. <\/p> \n \n
