Description<\/strong>:<\/strong> This new part of the city is an example of the revitalization of post-industrial areas (a commercial and residential area was created on the site of former breweries). Historic industrial buildings have been adapted for new types of services and a new residential and commercial area has been built (low emission, with green roofs and photovoltaic systems). During the construction of the new complex, the rubble created during the demolition of industrial buildings of no cultural and architectural value was used (95%) for the foundation of new roads and facilities. A publicly accessible common space was also created in the form of an intermingled system of city squares. Water from these squares is collected and stored in special retention basins and treated by the vegetation within. <\/p> \n \n

Process<\/strong>:<\/strong> Revitalization of post-industrial areas (since 2009) \u2013 a new district on the site of Carlsberg breweries that operated here for 160 years. <\/strong><\/p> \n \n

Community<\/strong>:<\/strong> It is intended to be a place for the integration of diverse social groups.<\/p> \n \n

NBS tools used:<\/strong> Green roofs, rainwater retention tanks with plant filters, bioswales located along the main walking path in the “Vesten for Humlen” park.<\/p> \n \n
