Description<\/strong>:<\/strong> The new residential district was completed in 2004. It is now home to 2,800 people, 15,000 students, and 8,000 people work here. The heart of the development is Gronningen Park, the green areas here were designed through participatory activities. <\/p> \n \n

Process:<\/strong> <\/strong>The creation of a new district called an urban laboratory. A self-sufficient and sustainable district, where respect for nature is an important element. Previously, the space was used for a landfill (until the 1970s). <\/strong><\/p> \n \n

Community<\/strong>:<\/strong> A predominantly young community.<\/p> \n \n

NBS tools used:<\/strong> The park’s features a body of water shaped as a meandering stream, on its axis are rain gardens, dry retention basins, flower meadows and oases of biodiversity \u2013 places for insects, birds and small mammals. <\/p> \n \n
