Preparing cities for climate change requires top-down strategic actions aimed at limiting global warming and achieving climate neutrality, as well as counteracting threats such as heat, droughts, strong winds, floods and high water levels. As part of the conducted research, the CoAdapt UW team analyzed strategic documents of adaptation to climate change in six cities – Paris, Copenhagen, Oslo, New York City, Boston and Philadelphia. Adaptation actions were analyzed in both spatial and social aspects. In addition, spatial solutions based on green and gray infrastructure were distinguished.
